This week’s Leil Shishi was a powerful blend of Torah and hands-on experience, as we took our learning from the Beis Hamedrash to the kitchen. Building on our study of the Mitzva of Challa in Parshas Korach, we explored the ten Mitzvos that Chazal associate with the process of making and eating bread - from leaving Peah in the fields to not muzzling one’s animal when threshing. We then learned ten practical Halachos relating specifically to Challa, such as how to hold the Challa, how to treat bread, and why we don’t separate Challa nowadays. The highlight of the evening was putting our learning into action: each boy braided and shaped his own Challa, ready to bring home and elevate his Shabbos table. A meaningful, memorable evening that brought Torah to life - and filled the hall with the delicious smell of fresh dough!
