Last Thursday night, Yavneh Boys enjoyed an engaging Leil Shishi session that brought Torah learning to life with food, fun, and fascinating discussion.
Rabbi Simmonds began the evening with a gripping account of the Cairo Geniza - a hidden repository of sacred texts stored for generations. His introduction highlighted the care and reverence we show for written Torah materials, setting the perfect tone for the learning that followed. In carousel-style stations, the boys explored real-life questions relating to Sheimos - holy writings and objects that require respectful handling:
The evening ended on a delicious note with the classic Leil Shishi combination of cholent and kugel, leaving both minds and stomachs satisfied. Kol hakavod to all the boys who took part - we look forward to the next Leil Shishi at Yavneh!
