Yavneh Boys Sixth Form have recently returned from an inspiring five-day journey to Poland. They visited the camps of Belzecm, Majdanek, Plaszow and Auschwitz-Birkenau, to understand the horrors of the Shoah and paid their respects at mass graves in Josefow and Zbylitowska Góra. They learned in the famed Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin, Davened at the Graves of the Noam Elimelech of Lizhensk and Izhbitzer, visited the rebuilt shul in Gilgoraj, and spent a beautiful Shabbos in Krakow where they Davened Maariv in the famed Temple Shul, shared an awe inspiring Oneg with Rabbi Silberman, Davened Mincha in the Rema’s Shul, toured the ancient Jewish city and visited the building where Sarah Schenirer began the revolution in education with the Beis Yaakov school system. They also visited her memorial on the edge of the Plaszow Camp. The trip was led by Mr.Leventhall and Rabbi Ari Silberman in conjunction with JRoots.
